August Focus: Rooted in Resilience- Equity in Agriculture

Rooted in Resilience: Indigenous Knowledge, Youth Leadership, and Climate-Smart Agriculture

Agriculture is entering a new era where resilience depends on our ability to combine centuries of indigenous wisdom with modern science, digital innovation, and the energy of young people. As climate change, biodiversity loss, resource scarcity, and rural transformation reshape global food systems, sustainable solutions must be locally grounded, socially inclusive, and environmentally responsible.

To celebrate International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples (9 August), World Biofuel Day (10 August), and International Youth Day (12 August), The Agricultural Economist invites original contributions for its August 2026 issue under the theme:

🌱 Rooted in Resilience: Indigenous Knowledge, Youth Leadership, and Climate-Smart Agriculture

This special issue will explore how traditional ecological knowledge, youth-driven innovation, sustainable energy, and inclusive policies can build resilient agricultural systems while strengthening food security, protecting biodiversity, and improving rural livelihoods.

We particularly welcome articles that bridge research and practice by offering evidence-based analysis, innovative ideas, practical solutions, and policy recommendations for governments, researchers, development practitioners, entrepreneurs, and farming communities.
